Having incorrect tyre pressures can increase fuel consumption, will wear out your tyres much faster and in the worst case scenario, be fatal. It is a little known fact that it is illegal to drive with under-inflated tyres in the UK, yet surveys show that many cars have one or more tyres incorrectly inflated and amazingly, few drivers check their tyre condition and pressures regularly. Many underinflated tyres are difficult to spot, especially low profiles but with this cap, and especially at night, there is an easy way to tell.
These new Tyre Safety Alert Valve Caps are exclusively distributed in the UK by Manchester-based firm Brandnetics. They are simple to fit and do not require professional installation. Simply inflate the tyre to the manufacturers recommended psi and then replace your existing dust cap with the Safety Alert Valve Cap. The cap will begin to blink/flash if the tyre pressure drops four psi below the recommended level.
The Tyre Pressure Alert Valve Caps are manufactured to fit all vehicles
(except some motorcycles) and once calibrated to your cars correct
tyre pressure, will not be of use on any other vehicle unless it
has the same recommended psi.
We recommend that your tyres are inflated to
the correct psi at an approved service station.
A report by Avon Tyres suggested under-inflated
tyres cost UK Motorists £1 Billion a year in higher fuel
bills and reduced tyre life and a survey also reported that Six
per cent of all fatal motorway accidents are caused by the sudden
failure of under inflated tyres
